CIAC Spring Sports Update

CHESHIRE, Conn. – CAS-CIAC appreciates the efforts of Commissioner Cardona and Governor Lamont to engage students while keeping the health and safety of Connecticut’s schools and communities at the center of their decision-making.

The announcement to extend school closings through May 20th provides a timeline for the CIAC to consider regarding spring sport opportunities.  CIAC administrative staff will have more detailed conversations with superintendents, principals, athletic directors, member leagues, medical professionals, and coaches over the next week and half.  The CIAC Board of Control will meet on April 23 to review feedback from each group and discuss safe and realistic spring sport experiences.
