Connecticut Highway Safety Office Offering Program For Schools

choices-matter-logoThe Connecticut Highway Safety Office is providing the funding for a select number of high schools across the state to bring a nationally renowned presentation to Connecticut High Schools. The program is a part of the new “Choices Matter” initiative. The initiative is the expansion of a pilot program featured in a few Connecticut schools last year. The program brings in speakers to share their stories about the impact underage drinking and driving had on their lives to the student body.

The life changing presentation led by Chris Sandy has been shared with over one million students across the country. In addition, the program includes an opportunity for the students to participate in interactive demonstrations throughout the day with a safe driving simulator and impairment goggles. The program was incredibly well received by those schools that participated last year and the Highway Safety Office is excited about expanding the efforts to reach additional schools this year.
