#3 – Dream shot for Ragaini sends East Haven to girls basketball state title.

Making a shot at the buzzer to win a state title is the stuff dreams are made of. Yet for most of the 4th quarter of the Class M girls basketball final, a dream seemed far away from reality for Isabella Ragaini and East Haven. Her team trailed by as many as 10 points in the quarter, and was down by eight points with 3:23 left in the game, and she had not scored a basket from the field. All of that would change. An East Haven run capped by a Ragaini free throw gave the team a 2-point lead. Career’s Carmen Rosemond answered with a basket of her own, tying the game with 24 seconds left, setting up one of the most dramatic finishes of the year for the 2017-18 CIAC championship season. As the ball found its way to Ragaini with the clock running down, it was dream making time. Shot is good. Championship. Pandemonium. Dreams come true.
