CIAC Hosting Basketball Coaching Clinic At Mohegan Sun

CHESHIRE, Conn. – In conjunction with the CIAC Girls and Boys Basketball Finals at Mohegan Sun Arena, CIAC will be holding its first-ever Connecticut High School Basketball Coaching Clinic Friday, March 15 at Mohegan Sun beginning at 7 p.m.

The three-hour event will feature presentations from three Connecticut collegiate coaches, as well as a question and answer session on NFHS rules with the Connecticut State Board Rules Interpreter. Sacred Heart University men’s head coach Anthony Latina, Eastern Connecticut State women’s head coach Denise Bierly, and Coast Guard Academy men’s head coach Kevin Jaskiewicz will be the clinicians for the event.

“This new event is the result of some creative thinking and a lot of work from Dave Schulz, Associate Boys Basketball Tournament Director, and our basketball committee members who wished to find a way to offer a great experience for high school basketball coaches in the state and enhance what is already an exciting weekend of basketball,” stated CAS-CIAC Executive Director Glenn Lungarini.

The event is $15 to attend and is open to all Connecticut high school basketball coaches. All attendees will also receive one complimentary ticket to each of the three CIAC Basketball Championship sessions at Mohegan Sun.

The clinic was created and organized by members of the CIAC Boys and Girls Basketball Committees and is being sponsored by BSN Sports.
