CIAC Announces The 2020-2021 “Battle of the Teams”

CIAC Announces The 2020-2021 “Battle of the Teams”

Sportsmanship and positive student interactions are at the heart of the mission of CAS-CIAC. The Battle of the Fans, first introduced in the 2014-15 school year, is designed to inspire and recognize schools that use sporting events as an opportunity to foster a welcoming and fun school climate through supportive and creative cheering and behavior. This year, things will look a little different. Due to the pandemic (and limited fan and student attendance at games), instead of having a Battle of the Fans, we’ll have a Battle of the Teams!

Schools will produce and submit a short video, five minutes or less, demonstrating their commitment to positive team behavior and highlighting the great things they are doing within their teams to promote sportsmanship and school spirit. Members of the CAS-CIAC Student Athletic Advisory Board and the CAS-CIAC sportsmanship committee,  judge the videos and identify two finalists. CAS-CIAC staff then do further research and follow-up on the two finalists before selecting a winner. Please send video submissions to Cherese Miller-Odukwe (cmilleratcasciacdotorg) by Thursday, April 1, 2021.
