CIAC Pauses 2021-2022 Battle of the Fans Competition

CIAC Pauses 2021-2022 Battle of the Fans Competition

Note: On January 4, 2022 the CIAC paused the Battle of the Fans competition. Spectator limitations and COVID concerns have impacted student sections and attendance at high school sporting events.  Should conditions change later in the winter season, we may re-launch this year’s Battle of the Fans.

Does your school have the best student section in Connecticut?

Here’s your chance to make the case for why your school should be chosen as the 2021-2022 CIAC Battle of the Fans winner.

High schools across the state are invited to submit a video showing us why your school’s student section deserves to win the 8th annual CIAC Battle of the Fans competition.

Videos should be no longer than 3 minutes in length and should highlight sportsmanship, school spirit, creativity and student leadership. Any student section not following mask wearing rules for spectators will be disqualified from consideration.

Judges will choose 2 finalists and CIAC staff will visit those schools on a game night to observe the student section in person. A wining school will then be announced in early March and be honored as part of the CIAC Basketball Finals at Mohegan Sun on March 19 and 20.
