CIAC Football Tournament Media Information

CHESHIRE, Conn. – The CIAC is providing information for media coverage of the 2012 CIAC Football Tournaments.

All 16 quarterfinals will be played Tuesday, November 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the home site of the higher seed. The complete Tournament schedule and brackets can be found at the “Tournament Central” on www.CIACsports.com. Media should contact the host school in regards to media coverage requirements for quarterfinals.

All eight semifinals will be held on Saturday, December 1 at neutral sites with seven games scheduled for 2 p.m. and another at 7 p.m. The full schedule, with specifics of which games will be at which site, will be posted by 12 p.m. on Wednesday, assuming all games are completed Tuesday. An online application for media credentials for semifinals games will be available, along with the schedule, on www.CIACsports.com at 12 p.m. on Wednesday and a release with the credential application link will also be distributed. Those planning to provide radio or webcast of CIAC Tournament games must complete the CIAC Broadcast Application which is available in the “Media Information” section on the CIAC website and pay the rights fee associated with those broadcasts in addition to submitting the online credential request.

The annual CIAC Football Tournament press conference featuring the coaches, captains and athletics directors of the eight finalists will be held on Monday, December 3 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Club Room, located on the third floor at Rentschler Field. Media are asked to e-mail their name and affiliation to Joel Cookson at jcooksoncasciacorg  (jcooksoncasciacorg)   if they are planning to attend so the CIAC can get an accurate head count.

All four football finals will be played at Rentschler Field with the first game Friday December 7 at 7 p.m., followed by games at 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday December 8. The Tournament Final schedules of which team will play which time will be announced at Monday’s press conference.
