CIAC Board of Control Report – 8/22/13

CHESHIRE,Conn.– The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference Board of Control met for its first monthly meeting of the 2013-14 year in Cheshire on Thursday, August 22. 

On the agenda were three voting items for the Board, consisting primarily of administrative approvals including previous meeting minutes and treasurer’s report.

• The Board approved recommended appointments to the CIAC Board of Control and Eligibility Committee to fill vacancies due to retirement and resignation. The Board approved the following appointments: Mark Ambruso, Principal of Bacon Academy, Colchester for Class M Representative; Stephen Patrina, AP At-Large representative on the Eligibility Committee for AP At-Large on Board of Control; Mrs. Suzanne Brown Koroshetz, Principal of Brien McMahon High School, Norwalk for Eligibility At-Large; Sheila Riffle, Principal of Old Saybrook High School, for Eligibility At-Large.
• The Board heard presentations on the following: changes in the 2013-14 CIAC Handbook, the 2012-13 CIAC financial report, CIAC summer advisories concerning pertinent issues for schools, and the creation of the NFHS Network. 

The Board of Control is scheduled to meet again on Thursday, September 19.
