The CIAC Boys Ice Hockey Committee met on Tuesday, April 22. The following were a few notable discussion topics and decisions.

  • The Committee completed the divisional appeal process for the 2014-15 season and finalized the division breakdowns for the upcoming season, barring changes in varsity status or co-op programs. Those divisions will be posted with the completion of the Tournament Packet, which will take place in September.
  • The Committee analyzed the reports on the number of major penalties committed in the 2013-14 season. There was a significant decrease in the number of major penalties committed in the 2013-14 season as 55 penalties were reported across the state, compared to 83 for the 2012-13 season.
  • In addition 25 schools will receive a letter of commendation from the Ice Hockey Committee for playing the entire season without committing a major penalty.

The Ice Hockey Committee will meet again in September.
