CHESHIRE, Conn. – Torrington High School has agreed to serve as the host for Saturday’s 2 p.m. Class S-Small football semifinal between Capital Prep/Achievement First and Canton High School.
This year’s semifinals are being held at the home site of the higher-ranked team as long that site meets the requirements for tournament play. The field at Capital/Achievement First’s normal home site (Dillon Stadium in Hartford) was deemed unplayable for tournament play in its current condition by the CIAC football committee. After a thorough search for a suitable venue, Torrington offered its new turf stadium as a site and both teams have agreed to play the game there.
