CAS-CIAC Battle of the Fan Finalists

The submissions have been analyzed for the first CAS-CIAC Battle of the Fans competition and the three finalists have been chosen. Nine schools took the time to produce a video highlighting the spirit, sportsmanship, and creativity of their student sections and now it’s down to the final three. Site visits and interviews with the three finalists will take place in the coming week, and the overall winner will be announced in the week prior to the CIAC Basketball Championships, and will be recognized at Mohegan Sun arena as part of the Championship weekend.

Remember the committee made selections based on which schools best expressed excellence in the following areas through their submission video: positive sportsmanship, spirit, originality, student leadership, and student body involvement.

Without further adieu, here are the three finalists.

Sacred Heart High School

Simsbury High School

Thomaston High School

In the coming weeks we will utilize social media to allow fans to weigh in on their choices among the finalists to help select the overall winner.

In the meantime, check out this playlist of all the excellent submissions. And to those schools not chosen as finalists, thank you for your efforts and participation in this program. Many schools are doing great work in regard to sportsmanship and spirit, and we encourage you to continue your efforts, work to develop even better programs and participation in your student sections, and submit again in next year’s Battle of the Fans.
