Volunteer Opportunity For High School Students To Benefit Special Olympics

For those high school students looking for service hours here is a fantastic opportunity to get a lot of hours in by volunteering at a great event for a great cause! The event is the Dream Ride Experience which raises money for Special Olympics and is sponsored by Bozzuto’s Inc., a long time partner of the CIAC.  This years Dream Ride Experience is being held at the Farmington Club in Farmington Friday-through-Sunday August 25-27 and more volunteers are desperately needed! Please read more about the event below and how you or your athletes can sign up to be volunteers!

The Dream Ride Experience is a unique opportunity for the greater community to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements, perseverance, and countless abilities of individuals living with intellectual and physical disabilities in our communities. Originally a Connecticut-based motorcycle rally and car cruise to benefit the Special Olympics, the Dream Ride has evolved far past its humble beginnings in 2001, and is now an international cause spanning 12 U.S. states and 5 countries! With the help of thousands of participants, volunteers, spectators and sponsors – The Dream Ride Experience has raised over $3.3 million dollars for Special Olympics and other causes in our communities, and is an inspiring and amazing event you don’t want to miss!

Dream Ride is fueled strictly by the compassion and generosity of hundreds of individuals and organizations who give of their time and resources to ensure the success of this event each year.  Please join our team and demonstrate your school’s, organization’s, or company’s community spirit by supporting this incredible cause with a donation of your time.

We are still in dire need for volunteers for this year’s Dream Ride event. The Dream Ride Experience will be held on Friday August 25; Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27 at the Farmington Club in Farmington.  Some volunteer roles are registration, pre-registration, dining room control, unified yard games, unified fishing, pet adoption area, costume characters, raffles, overnight setup, and much more. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Usually the volunteer times are about 8 hour shifts but if people can only work a few hours, we will gladly accept and just work around their schedule.

Dream Ride is a recognized 501(c)3 organization, and provides community service credits/hours and recognition for any volunteer work performed in support of this event.

Please help us make this year’s Dream Ride better than ever!  Sign up to volunteer today!  For more information about Dream Ride, visit http://dreamride.org.  For more information about volunteering for this event, contact Kristen Creston at kcrestonatbozzutosdotcom or 203-250-5668.

Thank you for helping to change the world – one smile at a time!”
