The past four years the CIAC has sponsored the CIAC Bowling Championship for teams, in partnership with the Connecticut Bowling Proprietors Association. This year, for the first time, individual bowlers will get a shot at earning a title as the First Annual Connecticut High School Singles Bowling Tournament will take place at the Nutmeg Lanes in Fairfield on Saturday, January 23, 2016 beginning at 10 a.m.
Entries are now being accepted for the event, which are $20 per competitor, and there is no limit to the number of entries per school. The entry fee will cover all bowling related costs, including the bowling and shoe rentals. The deadline to enter is Friday, January 15 at 4 p.m. and schools should mail: the name of the competitors, entry fee ($20/entrant), and the name(s) and contact information for your coach/chaperone. The event is open to boys and girls and individuals will each bowl four games. The CIAC considers the event an activity so it is open to all students and does not require students to have a physical to participate.
