BOYS AND GIRLS TENNIS COMMITTEE MINUTES
December 1, 2015
Present – Vic Sesto, John Reisert, Steve Ludlowe
John Reisert presented a review of the 2015 tournament. The tournament went very well. There were a few minor complaints from parents of students involving proms.
One team was disqualified as a result of altering its line-up.
The packet was reviewed, edited and suggested divisional alignments were presented. The divisions will be set after co-op teams are known.
Present – Jim Solomon, John Keogh, Steve Jasulavic
Jim Solomon went over the 2015 boys’ tournament document that he had presented at the conclusion of the tournament. All went well with the exception of a sportsmanship issue involving three Fairfield County schools. That issue has been addressed by the FCIAC.
There were three new tournament directors for the 2015 tournament and all did a commendable job of administering their respective events.
There was considerable praise for holding the finals of the boys and girls tournaments at the Connecticut Tennis Center. Plans are being developed to use that facility for the 2016 finals.
The boys tennis committee and the girls tennis committee have developed separate, but equally effective tournaments. Both committees work well together and that adds to the quality of the CIAC tournaments.
The unattached rule was discussed by both committees and it seems to be working well.
There are no new USTA rules that will impact our boys and girls tennis seasons.
